(Wikipedia) Born on November 8, 1967. Since 2016, he has been the head of the laboratory of heavy quarks and leptons at the Physics Institute of the Academy of Sciences named after I. P.N. Lebedev (LPI). From 1990 to 2015 - worked at the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEP), where he rose from a senior researcher to the head of the laboratory. Professor of the Department of Physics of Elementary Particles of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), reads a course in experimental physics, is the supervisor of graduate students and students of MIPT. Professor of the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics. A.N. Tikhonova, Department of Electronic Engineering (HSE). In 2006 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "The birth of charmonium in e + e- annihilation" (the academic title of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences was awarded in 2007), which was based on a discovery that caused a huge resonance in the Russian and international scientific community. In the works of P. N. Pakhlov it was shown that the probability of pair production of charmonium in the annihilation of electrons and positrons exceeds theoretical predictions by an order of magnitude. The results obtained, later confirmed by American physicists, prompted dozens of theorists to make new calculations to explain this amazing phenomenon. However, despite their considerable efforts, the experimental results still cannot be accurately described theoretically. In 2011, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2016, he was nominated for the elections to the Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
